A new Jail Management System and Records Management System was implemented by the Neshoba County Sheriff's Department on Thursday, March 30th.
The new system provided by PTS Solutions of Harrisonburg, Louisiana modernizes the records systems for the Neshoba County Sheriff's Department and Neshoba County Jail. The new system was bid in November 2016 with PTS Solutions being the lowest bidder at a total cost of $55,499.99. The system includes a new server and conversion of existing records for the Sheriff's Department and Jail. The new system replaces an aging system that isn't compatible with 64 bit computer operating systems and newer windows operating systems. The new system will also allow warrants from Justice Court to be entered and scanned into the system for electronic access at various facilities replacing a paper-based warrant system in place. Justice Court, Jail and Sheriff's Department staff underwent training on the system leading up to the cutover on March 30th.
The Sheriff's Department and Jail also placed new computers into service to utilize the system including two new complete booking workstations with individual cameras allowing two bookings to occur at the same time. The majority of older computers were running discontinued Windows XP.
