Neshoba County Receives $100,000 Small Municipalities Limited Population Counties Grant

Governor Tate Reeves and the Mississippi Development Authority recently informed the Neshoba County Board of Supervisors that a $100,000 grant from the Small Municipalities and Limited Population Counties Grant Program has been awarded to the County for road improvements on County Road 236 off Industrial Circle in Union which serves the Tyson Feed Mill Complex.  Through this project base failures in the roadway will be repaired, the existing roadway surface will be cold milled, it will be levelled, a bituminous stress relief layer will be installed and finally the roadway will be overlaid with asphalt.  Shoulder improvements and roadway markings will also be installed.  The anticipated cost for improvement of this 0.60 mile segment is $323,000.00.  East Central Planning and Development District will be managing the grant and Crowder Engineering and Surveying will be engineering and designing the project.  Marty Crowder of Crowder Engineering and Surveying serves as County Engineer for Neshoba County.
