Neshoba County Awarded Solid Waste Assistance Grant

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality recently awarded a Local Government Solid Waste Assistance Grant in the amount of $18,484.00 to the Neshoba County Board of Supervisors.

The grant will be utilized to assist in finishing the new bulky waste collection center at the Neshoba County Unit Facility Building.  When weather permits the concrete approaches and barriers for the disposal center will be completed at the re-located disposal site.  The new disposal site will allow the disposal of waste tires, metal and white goods as well as household waste in a safe and efficient manner.  Residents are encouraged to dispose of their waste tires and household waste properly by bringing them to the collection site at the Neshoba County Unit Facility Building located on Hwy 15 Bypass.  The Neshoba County Board of Supervisors appreciates the partnership with MDEQ to enhance the solid waste management capabilities of the County through recent grants including the Waste Tire Grant, the Local Government Solid Waste Assistance Program Grant and the Solid Waste Planning Grant.  The collection facility is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM, on Friday from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM and on Saturday from 7:00 AM until 12:00 noon.
